Shellie E. Solomon
Biography

Shellie Solomon is the Chief Executive Officer of JSS, Inc. where she provides day-to-day oversight on all projects.

Ms Solomon is the former Deputy Budget Director for the U.S. Census Bureau and Senior Manager at the Justice Department. Ms. Solomon has more than 17 years of experience in operations and management, budgets, strategic planning, criminal justice evaluation, and appropriate technology. She oversaw the budget for Census 2000 and managed an annual budget of $1.3 billion for the COPS Office Grants Division for four years.

Ms. Solomon is the director of the Service Network for Children of Inmates, a contract funded by the Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade County. In this capacity, she oversees six community-based and faith-based organizations. She is also the on-site director and research partner for two grants with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office—on Gang Violence and Mortgage Fraud.

As CEO, Ms. Solomon works with diverse organizations, including social services agencies, hospitals, and faith-based entities, to build their capacity to assess their operations and leverage efforts to identify other support options. Ms. Solomon manages complex technology contracts that include evaluation, selection and implementation processes. She has an in-depth understanding of hardware and software capabilities, and vendor relationships.

In 2008, Ms. Solomon was selected by the Department of Defense to participate in the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference that toured Europe. She was one of 45 business people selected to meet members of the US European Command and tour military bases in England, Spain, Greece, and Germany.

Ms. Solomon holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma and University of Rochester and is the recipient of the JustWorks award from the U.S. Department of Justice for innovation in government.
