Research and Evaluation
What We Do

Many criminal justice, homeland security and social service organizations come to JSS with tough questions: What are evidence-based approaches to reduce gang violence? What is known about investigating and prosecuting mortgage fraud? How do we reduce crime in schools?
Our answers come from research and evaluations.
JSS specializes in conducting field research, evaluations and assessments to provide organizations the information, results and guidance they need to make complex public decisions. Our research is geared toward improving public safety, human services and educational programs by using cutting-edge technology and by asking the right questions.
Through insightful computer-based mapping and strategic thinking, our research practices, including predictive policing and smart policing, enable law enforcement, district attorneys, and homeland security agencies to anticipate crimes before they happen. We've also applied our advanced evaluation methods to discover gaps in community service and identify emerging trends needed for long-term planning.
